It has always been our policy to refuse cores which are not "remanufacturable." We require that the cores are original
equipment, unopened and undamaged. We try to keep our prices low by having consistent procedures; these are greatly
affected by prior work. Many troubleshooting clues are lost due to prior tampering. The original problem(s) can be
masked causing troubleshooting and remanufacture to be much more time-consuming and difficult. Furthermore, it takes
more than double the time to desolder a board as to solder it, making re-manufacture up to three times as long.
We cannot remanufacture or take as a core equipment that is not original equipment, especially those with aftermarket
replacement boards inside the cans.
We realize that in certain circumstances cores are limited or unavailable. In these cases we evaluate whether
the core is salvageable. If so, the following surcharge is added to the cost of remanufacture:
Opened module - factory seal broken
no charge
Any soldering
$50.00
Major soldering (over 1/4 board) or component change
unacceptible core - entire core charge applies in addition to rebuild cost
