Cruise Control Amplifier Rebuild Procedures
People ask us what is involved in the rebuild of a Cruise Control Amplifier. We can't really tell you everything for a
couple reasons. 1) While we have a standard procedure, each Amp can have a variety of things that go wrong and 2) some
of what we do comes under the category of trade secrets.
We can tell you the following:
- We don't simply fix what is wrong with the Amplifier. We replace components that might go bad in the future and address
issues that should keep the unit from ever failing again.
- We have well less than a 1% failure rate on our rebuilt Cruise Control Amplifiers.
- When components are replaced they are more modern and have higher capacities and better specifications.
- We are so confident in the quality of our rebuilt units that we give a 2-Year Warranty
with them!
The Cruise Control Amplifier is typically the component that goes bad with these systems. However, the Actuators wear with
Cruise System use and generally last only around 50,000 miles of actual use. It is best to have them checked out and tested
together - especially with cars over 10 years old and with mileage over 100,000 miles.
If we ultimately rebuild a unit there is no charge to check it out and notify you via email. If we bench test only the
charge is only $45 for each unit or $60 if we test Amplifier and Actuator at the same time. We offer a much more conclusive
test and adjustment of the Actuator.
The only other charge is return shipping.
