Glossary
- actuator - in the engine compartment. it provides the mechanical link to the throttle
linkage taking the signals from the amplifier and converting them to a push or pull on the trottle.
- amplifier - the brain of the cruise control system. it processes speed signals and
inputs from the control switch and ultimately controls the actuator. it is essentially a small computer and,
in fact, some units have an internal microprocessor.
- Bosch - a German company that produces some of the original equipment electronics and mechanical
devices for the automotive industry.
- core - a piece of equipment that has not yet been remanufactured.
- core buy - the cash price we pay to purchase a core.
- core charge - what we charge until a core is returned to us.

- MBZ - abbreviation for Mercedes-Benz.
- potentiomenter - a variable resistor.
- set speed - the speed that the driver sets into the amplifier be pressing accel/set or decel/set.
- speed sensor - located on or near the speedometer. generates and sends the speed signal
to the amplifier.
